    HELP!!
I took my 98 GTP into a shop a on friday to change my fuel filter, my upper radiator hose and my coolant. When I went to pick it up the head Tech told me I that I was in dire need on spark plugs, so I went out that night, bought 6 double platinum plugs and installed them.

    The Problem.
For quite some time now something has not been quite right with the car. It has stalled out on me twice after firing it up initially and anytime I come off the throttle completley and allow the revs to sink, it drops down to about 800rpm and then, once I get back on the throttle it seems to bog down and nearly cut out then gets going in a hurry.

    The idiot.
I have put around 10k on it since october and I live in Montana so it's always dusty here so I figured, maybe the fuel filter is clogged? Went down to napa, bought a new filter, had it installed on friday. This, it seems, was a mistake. It did not cure the bogging and also created a new problem.

    The new problem
The car was fine for all of about 2 minutes, I could tell instantly that the bogging was still present but then the vibrating began. The car is fine out of boost but as soon as I try to get on it at all, an imense vibration occurs. It sounds like a misfire, and may well be, but the wires were new and the plugs were all new yesterday. What else could it be? I am reluctant to drive it right now and I do need it for work. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Luke

Get some autolite 606/605's in there and see if helps.

You should be running copper plugs anyways.

Okay, how would i know that this is the cause of the problem, if I were to remove one, would it have any tell tale signs? Also, if I were to buy new one (I hear AC Delco are the way to go) would it come with all 3 or just one?

I should? They were the cheaper and Napa recommended the double plats. $4 a pop. I'll admit straight up, I am a beginner with all this kind of stuff, the GTP is my first car and the first vehicle I've worked on. I have no physical tutor so I have to take the advice given. All your help is much appreciated

    Always stick with delco coils.

    Or at least stock ones.

Napa shoulda recommended the iridiums for "extreme peformance" if they wanted to make money.

But you should be running coppers.

I've heard people have issues with bosch plugs fouling quickly.

So is there anyway to determine what it is exactly? Or anyway to tell whether it is infact the coils? We have an old olds with a 3800 series I motor, would the coils on the be compatible with mine?

    second cone of what?

And on the snout theres a small hex bolt, unscrew that, make sure the o-ring on it is okay and drain the fluid by pulling it out with a turkey baster and some tubing or a syringe and some tubing.

Then go to your local GM dealership and get two bottles of supercharger fluid, shouldn't be more than $10 a bottle.

Fill to the bottom of the threads on the hole and put the bolt back in.

If you live down sound somewhere, you can run synthetic 5w30 from what I've heard. I've seen the bulletin but I can't recall if it was synthetic or not.

Just get the right stuff from the dealership.

Thanks matt, I'll go check that now.

By cone I meant nose cone. Not sure if the whole supercharger was replaced or not.

    Oh the snout.

Well if its got high miles and the previous owner didn't know how to rebuild it or didn't know anyone who did then yeah, most people end up getting new ones or selling the car lol.

The snout seal can leak, the bearings in the blower case can need replacing, coupler can go (that ones an easy fix) etc.

Haha fair enough, I'm hoping it's the ignition, just because that seems the easiest fix. Havent got time tonight but tomorrow after work I will be checking the supercharger. No noises coming from it as of now so not too worried. I will change the fluid though. Probably at the same time I next change the oil.

so had the codes run and it seems I need a new MAFS, some kind of valve and then I need to replace this sensor that came with the car. I am told I will find it's placement under the trans. pan. The MAFS and valve are on order and the car is on jack stands. I need clarification on where the pice goes before I drain the trans fluid.
