Was thinking of running some cold starts so i can drop down to a 3.0 pulley, any thoughts? I know that people do this on other vehicles and i know a tune and larger injectors would be better, but why would this not work? I would incorporate them into my tb spacer and turn them on with my boost switches. What do you guys think?

    what..? why?

you can get some 42.5# injectors for less than $200 if you look hard enough. i got my 65# injectors to my door for $260. i wouldnt want to try and run more fuel with extra injectors...are you a DSM guy?

Have no $$ for tune... so the larger injectors are a no for now. What are the stock injectors good to? Cause i want to run the 3.0 and if i add a cold start or too that should take care of the extra fuel need.

im pretty sure stock injectors are 33# inectors, but it really depends on your setup if you are going to max them out or not. with an intercooler you can run leaner, which is why you could probably get away with a 3.0 with it.

why do you have so much pulley envy? small pulley != fast car.

well i was told in an earlier thread that i could not run the 3.0 with intercooler and stock injectors.... which is why i was wondering if anyone else has done it with these cars, a simple extra injector in the tb spacer. Set at a predetermined boost level, like 8 or so to meet the fuel demands. Less demand on the other injectors.

also, i have an adjustable fpr, could i just bump up the fuel pressure to account for the extra boost and be safe with the stock injectors?

its possible. every car is different, so unless you try it out and clearly see your IPWs hitting like 22.xx and youre knocking then you are maxing them out.

you could also the a fuel pressure gauge just to make sure you arent losing pressure up top. ive got one and love it.

yea i have a fuel gauge but its on the regulator. i could up the fuel pressure is what im talking about, making the injectors flow more i.e. 40 pph

I don't foresee putting cold start injectors in front of the blower as a safe move. Fuel + teflon-coated rotors = ?

I would say save money so you can do the injectors and a tune. Better yet, go ahead and buy yourself a tuner. The ability to adjust for anything you throw at the car is worth a lot.

1st off they arent teflon coated, they are powder coated, 2nd, i spray meth, just like everyone else does so whats the difference, its fuel. 3rd what about the carbed guys with the big blocks that use the draw through fuel system? same thing, roots blower, i was just wondering if anyone here has done it. some call it ghetto but i call it a cheap alternative and i know its not nearly as accurate as a tune but for the time being (broke) i think it could work. Alot of turbo guys are running similar and even in most supercharger kits they give you extra injector system to add the fuel.

Hmm... Good points. I retract my statement from earlier.

Bigger injectors and a tune seem easier to me, but adding an extra injector or two may be a bit cheaper. Go for it. I am somewhat curious as to how that system would work, and I would like to see it happen.

trust me, i wish i had a tuner... and i will have one after i get money but for now im gonna try this and post results i guess. i only have a narrowband for now, so i know that is not the best either but im thinkin i can get it close enough more on the safe side.
