Im gonna be getting some 1.9s here soon but dont know which ones. Is there any advantages to having 1.9 rollers over the 1.9 modded rockers? Im going to really try to find some used ones before i think of getting new but if i cant find any used ill have to get new which i would really like to try to avoid. A racetronix fuel pump will be in the mix as well so i can drop to the 2.8 i have sitting here. The EWP will be going back in along with the 160 t stat i have laying around. A new stock rad will be put in followed with a coolant flush. And also a new alt bracket will be put on since this one went to **** already. Hopefully i can get it to the track this summer.

    enough of my babbling now.

Stock rollers. Or small ratio rollers since you are planning on a cam again soon.

Between rollers and modified units, the rollers are better.

The roller tip reduces valvetrain friction, and puts let stress on your valvetrain components. As far as which one makes more power, it won't really be noticable.

    Again, aren't you running a cam? Don't run 1.9's with a cam.

You could probably get away with a small cam like a VS and 1.7's or 1.8's for more lift, but I would be leery.

A little more information on the valvetrain you plan on running would be helpful.

He went back to a stock cam.

If you have the money...just get 1.95's.

I saw some Harland Sharp 1.9 or 1.95 rollers on Club GP.

Might check those out if they aren't sold already.

i decided to drop the cam idea and go with 1.9s. I know that when running a cam its either stock or if a person was doing the cam possibly some 1.7s but no cam for me anymore. Thanks for clearing that up for me blue. Whats the difference between 1.9s and 1.95s?

well ya. i guess that was a dumb question. Lemme reword it. Whats so great about the 1.95s compared to the 1.9s? just a tiny bit more lift or?

I've always been told to stay away from the harland sharps, but you might find some people out there with no problems, so its up to you. A roller is better, but modded rockers are pretty reliable. I would go with either modded 1.9's or 1.95 yella terras.

When you get up into the 1.9 ratio or above, one thing you have to consider is valve float. You will not notice it until you see it on a dyno graph or if its real bad, you may notice it. You will need some heaver springs.

I believe Abrasive is running Harland Sharps.

Anything over 1.9's you're going to need springs.

i got an offer for some 1.84 rollers but id like to have more lift. Would it be a good idea to get 130s or would i be fine with 105s to eliminate valve float?

105's will be plenty. If you are not getting a cam get some 1.95 rollers.

ya im not gonna go with cammed idea anymore. Dont wanna pull the motor anymore for awhile so some rollers will do fine. I still have retainers and 6 105 springs. basically when i get them, just put them in, torque to spec and good to go? or do i need to adjust preload and what not?

Just get the 1.9 modified rockers. You won't notice a difference between rollers and modified. You will also save $$ for more mods!
