Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
Roller rocker. Nuff said. Yella Terras. Nuff said.
You will bennefit in many many ways.
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
TDC would you be against buying the yella terra kit for $90 off intense from the link I sent you?
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
Those are the stock ratio roller rockers. Plus they say that they are adjustable and need LARGER valve covers. I don't even know of a place where you can get larger 3800 valve covers...
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
well I want stock ratio because I plan to cam.... however yes... the custom valve covers is what did it in. I don't understand what is up with these yella terras? for another car?

Maybe from a LSx? But that can't be b/c the rockers are different...
HA!! Went to Yella Terra myself...but it says the same thing...
Yella Terra - Part details
So I found a pic of a adjustable one from a Holden V6...damn thing looks so ODD...

Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
I just dont understand why we have to drill and tap the stock ratio ones but not the higher ratio???

I think you have to drill and tap your heads for the rocker arm bolts that fit that set. But I could be reading it wrong.

They were saying you have to drill and tap the roller rockers in the back for the extra set of bolts so you can adjust them IMO...
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
yea.... I don't understand why unless these were made for another car...
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
Or maybe they are just saying you tap them due to your personal preference on where you want them tapped? Or maybe if you tap them at a different spot they are able to be adjusted for a higher ratio? Just a thought...
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
Different size rocker arm studs.
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
its decided. Im ordering these

Do you think its possible i can run a 3.6" or 3.5" pulley with these, the genV, and the N*?
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
so yella terras huh? nice
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
Both work well. If not going with a 1.95 ratio and springs 1.9 mod'ed are fine and have been proven time and time again to work. And work well with stock springs with little to no valve float(depending on spring wear and tear, mileage) to 6k rpm area.
If money is an issue you will not be upset with mod'ed rockers.
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
I've been running Intense Modded 1.9:1 Rockers since 2003 or 4. They've been great! These are the same thing as ZZPs, IWins, etc.
BTW, I strongly suggest upgrading springs when doing rockers. After putting 60,000 miles on my car with 1.9 rockers I had a stock spring break. Luckily I cought it before anything happened, then and there I upgraded to CC 105# Springs/Retainers. I could of easily dropped a valve and lost my motor. I somehow I got lucky. Keep in mind, I NEVER revved over 6K. Do some research on ClubGP, i'm not the only one I had this happen too, there are many more like me, although most didn't get as lucky.
The moral, when doing any kind of 1.9 rockers being stock modified or rollars, don't be a cheap ass, upgrade the springs/retainers and save yourself some trouble later on down the road...
Re: Yella terra's vs. zzp's modded rockers
did you have to drll and tap them like the ones on intenses website?

I don't see any point in going over 6k on my setup. I have L76 valve springs, Lsx style retainers, and viton valve seals to go along with the 1.9 yella terra's.

The set that is on the site is the only set you will have to do that. All the sets the other vendors sell will bolt right up unless noted otherwise.
