If you get a Downpipe...I'd hold on the powerlog and get the intake...but that's just me.

Honestly you can pull off the front manifold and port it yourself if you want to get rid of the imperfections; I did. And I got rid of about .9-1.5* of KR for free

I've never ported anything... Do you know of any guides? Or do I just go at it with a dremel?

I didn't either. I used a dremel and got rid of all of the imperfections (gasket matched it).

What did you use with the dremel? Flapper wheel or something along those lines? Did you do just exhaust manifolds?

Pretty much...it took a good while...then I used some sanding bits to take it down even more after the really tough stuff was removed.

And yes...I leave the porting to Green Bastard Products...such as the TB/LIM/M90

i would stick with the plog and 3" downpipe. that'll be pretty good for a starter to modding. ported manifolds arent worth the effort in most cases. i also would not worry about wrapping the crossover. it wont really do all that much. the TB heat shield is useless.

I would want a intake just based on the fact you can hear the blower

We'll probably do the plog and the downpipe now since we're already doing major work on the car. He can do the intake anytime, and it won't be too difficult.

Go buy a cheapo cone filter and bolt it to the stock rubber portion of the intake

I'll probably tell him to do that. Then if he wants to extend it later, he can.

Doing the LIM gaskets is a good idea especially for a 97. I have a 98 and just did mine a couple weeks ago and they were shot. Out of curiousity what is indicating that you need to change them?
You will have at the minimum $200 in doing the LIM. That leaves $300 to play with. If it was me, and all I had was 300 bucks to spend( I cant believe I am saying this) Make a fenderwell intake and get a 3" bolt in downpipe. You will have some money in a good filter for the FWI and about 75 bucks altogether. Those two things together will give a decent improvement enough to feel. The sound of the supercharger being louder also helps. You can put the 180 stat in when you do the LIM gaskets and surely have a few bucks somewhere to get some 605's. But, you better tell your friend to be prepared to spend some money when **** starts breaking and going bad on an older car.

    LOL
    HEHEHE!!!

Well now lets see here, Your friend has a Bonnie Eh? and You asked us what he could do to it to feel a bit more mmmphhh. You mentioned right off the bat he has 500 to spend then went on to list a few things that may or may not really need to be done. Then said after all that he should have 275 left... And we mentioned a few things that he might do with his money.

Once a few things were offered you turned all of them down saying no no he only has this much money... PEOPLE MAKE MONEY! thats what we do. Im sure that in the future he will have more money to do more things. This is annoying I see this a lot on here. People ask questions then when given advice continually turn it down. You asked us, you should listen.

And yes lets discuss the "Jew" Comment. This comment was meant as sarcasm, awe inspiring sarcasm at that. So then you receded t0 a lower level and calling me a "dumbass". I let that one slide just because Im not really going to let you get under my skin like that. well until Nick said my balls receded into my uterus.

My post was in the right, Seriously save a bit more money then decide to mod. Or at least take into consideration what we say and maybe make a wish list/to-do list. and I will continue to post on these boards.

PS Nick, did I get my balls back yet? Thanks Homie...
