I have (2) 3.8 supercharged engines. early 90's is still bolted to tansmission/transaxle with wiring harness on engine, but cut @ firewall. Newer seriesII with complete harness. Unsure of condition of either. Was told both were running. seriesII had a knock. Unsure if the series II was internal or a wornout charger coupler. The owner said it was running really great but he was affraid of the noise so he swapped it out. This projest will take awhile. Seeing as how I'm not rich to throw money at it. And there is ALOT of work to be done. Let's not forget that thing that gets in the wy of all projects. JOBS. Different shifts, call out things like that. Of course I'm married with children (Al Bundy). But my wife and kids are great. My oldest (11) is really excited about the project too. Of course she just wants it for herself (NOT going to happen).
ALL input and suggestions is GREATLY appreciated. I'm a little slow on the lingo... I am use to V8's and carbs.... I know, I know Stop laughing. That's why i'm here. To get input from those who are more knowlegable than me.
If I need a Cam (which one)? A tune, (who does this)?, Things like this is what I need help on.
I do however live near several good junk (used parts) yards, SO if you ever need help locating anything just drop me a line.

    Thanks for all the help

it all depends on the power you want to make and how much money you want to spend.

I have done a few motor swaps in my time(this past year). I am currently doing a 3.8L SC in my fiero...for a fun car. I have also done an LS6 into my S10.

The trick is to focus on 1 thing at a time. dont think of the whole picture at once....you will over load your head and burn yourself out.

can you take pics? do you have a plan on what exactly you want to do? did the guy say the 3.8 was knocking hard? or just a rattle? I would try to find a motor that does not have any issues...so you dont spend any time diagnosing problems.after you have everything ready to drive....and come to find out the motor is bad.

UR LOSN... I aprreciate the input. I live in Radford, Virginia. I don't think I'm next door. But if you're close anytime drop me a line and stop by. If you're wondering where in the heck Radford VA is. Radford Unviversity is here and Virginia Tech is 15 minutes away. Later Anthony
