I had a terrible noise and found out it was my manifold. I replaced them with headers from slp. They are making a ticking noise, but thats not the problem. I had exhaust done with flowmasters. They sound great....the problem is i feel like ive lost horses from when it was stock till now. I did a tune up replaced the wires and plugs. Please help....is it me or am i doing something wrong???

unless you tune for the headers it will feel like you lost power because your powerband will have moved up in the RPM range. your car will pull a lot harder from about 50-80 instead of 30-60 like before.

headers are making more power, not less.

I was about to say I have a set of manifolds if you want your low end torque back. And I'll trade you straight up for your headers

My Magnaflows are a perforated three-chamber design. They broke in over the first few months and sound great now. No drone (and I have no resonator).

Ok so whatever it is...who really cares. He didn't like them so he got rid of them. They burned in, got beat up, blasted by exhaust gases...and most of all "BROKE IN" and he thought they sounded like crap.

And where in that picture does it say they don't burn? Just wondering if you could explain it to me.

The picture doesn't, it shows the steel plate baffles. My point is something else changed in the exhaust not the flow masters. Sorry if my post some how upset you but the truth is the truth. Now other mufflers with some type of packing in them then yes they can "burn in". It's just when I read something that is obviously misinformation i try to correct it. There is too much misinformation allready floating around the net we don't need anymore. Do me a favor call flowmaster and ask if you can break in a chambered muffler lol.

The thing that changed was the muffler. They have break in periods and over time the sound changes as the baffles wear down. They do not burn most likely I am just saying that his wore out and the sound changed.

That's it no hard feelings I am just stating the obvious.

how long has it been since you put the headers on?? did you reset the computer (disconect battery for 15 mins) you might need to so the computer can relearn its new modifications. also it will still take about a week for the computer to get adjusted. my car felt slower at first but its deff faster now even with no tune.

But what series magnaflows do you have as most do come with a packing material. So that in no way is a comparison to a flowmaster. I've installed alot of flowmasters and had them on quite a few of my cars the tone never changed. Now granted none of my cars or trucks never had converters or resignators. I'm not arguing the point that metal can change with heat common now everyone knows that. Having worked in the automotive machining field I'm pretty familiar with that. But I have never heard a flowmaster change sound or tone. You can call the gentleman I talked to what ever you want fact of the matter is he works there and answered the question knowing I wasn't buying anything from him. I have hooker aerochambers on my car.

well i picked up about .6 tenths in the 1/4 mile and 7 mph. if traction was willing i would have picked up more time. it deff made the car faster and it feels faster to me.
