change you plugs and wires, make sure you arent throwing any codes, o2 sensors gotta be good, etc. maintenance is key for mileage.
also, you should be running premium in a GTP anyway since it has a blower on it. no boosted car should ever be run on 89.
is there any way to clean O2 sensors instead of replacing?
no not really. once the heating element burns out then it is toast.
i usually get 19 mpg no matter how i drive. if i drive straight highway until i run out of gas i get 22.
There should be a label on the back side of your gas door that says "PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL ONLY"
But, yea. Running premium is absolutely necessary of a boosted car. Otherwise, that little bit of money you saved by using regular gas will go to a very small part of getting a new motor.
On top of what has previously been mentioned, what kind of shape is your air filter in? If that's dirty, it'll decrease your efficiency some. A clogged PCV valve also plays a part in getting good fuel mileage.
I managed to get 31+ MPG driving through the Ozark mountains on my 1-hour drives between here and Ft. Smith.
Well I am leaving for florida tomorrow and taking the GTP. Lets see what I can get on that great ZZP tune of mine. My best has been 25mpg with a lot of highway.
i get like 16 and im wondering the same thing this guy is lol my car is saying i need an o2 sensor, does that do it huge part in your gas milage or any performance?
lol ya thats what i thought, thanks
well i just brought it about 2 weeks ago and i put 89 in it about 2 times cus i really didnt know but today i put permi in it, but i think imma have the o2 changed anyway cus i was gettin 19 went i first got it now only 16.5
