    I was thinking of getting a new exhaust with my tax returns this year, I was thinking of getting the dual chamber 40 series flowmasters, and deleting my resonator. any suggestions?

    ..bad idea. flowmasters = dronemasters, ive had them. deleting the resonator will cause rasp and more drone.

    if anything swap the resonator with a glasspack or another resonator (not a stock one), but i would for sure recommend different mufflers than flowmasters. this is not a v8.

    I was actually considering replacing the resonator it with a glasspack, but as far as the flowmasters go I thought this one sounded good, and he has no resonator according to the comments.

    ah ok i didnt notice the extended description said he only revved it to 3800 rpm. would it sound bad with the glasspack though?
    ok well do u have a suggestion as far as mufflers go? also what size and what brand of glass pack would be good i saw someone on this forum said he used a summit 24", but idk.

    i have the 24" glasspack from summit. it works, but my car is starting to get loud again so i think it is wearing out. it was only like $30 to my door so i could really care less though.

    as much as id like to suggest an aftermarket muffler i wont because i dont like any of them. borla sounds okay, but even those sound like crap after so high of RPM. i would stick with stock mufflers, but do as you please. i hear lots of recommendations for magnaflow or borla, but no personal experience.

    I have the SLPs on my Impala, without the resonator. Wish I had it now. Interior drone is fun for about 10 minutes, but on long drives, ugh. Resonator on my GP is rusting, but I'll put something back on to pass inspection. I'm still considering putting one back on the Imp.

    even though most of u guys rcommended against it im prob gonna go w/ the dual chamber Flowmaster 40's and replace the res w/ a glasspack cuz a friend of a friend is selling a set of 40's w/ tips from his 99 gp w/ the 3.1 that have only been on the car for 2 months so even if i dont like 'em i can sell 'em and make my money back/ go w/ something else. he says he doesn't like the sound but everything else on his car is stock so... idk maybe it'll sound better on mine. oh yeah and i found a local shop who said if i already had the parts he'd install for like 80 bucks, and he comes recommended by all the racers in the area. also would taking out the u bend be advisable w/ this setup/ how much does it usually cost? my other mods are custom cold air, and i had the downpipe replaced a few months ago w/ a better one, but not the straight one like most people get. also what does the length of the glasspack like say a 22"versus a 28".

    i got the exhaust yesterday it sounds great I got the u bend taken out and put on the flowmasters and replaced the res w/ a 22" cherrybomb glasspack. it sounds really good, nice deep and throaty all across the spec and all for under $250. It could use a little more on the high end though the glasspack just deepened it alot, I guess Ill gut the cat or get it taken out and see how that sounds but it sounds good for now. will post sound clips and youtube some vids after i go to the strip this weekend.

    I once put a flow 40 delta on my truck, 2.5" with dual 2.5" dumped. Was amazing at first, then I took it out for a spin and drove on the highway. Came back home to get some aspirin from the head ache it gave me. Replaced it with 2.5" tail pipe with just a resonator. Much louder but sounders better IMO.

    DRONE = HELL

    my ears hurt from all the drone of my exhaust. I've got 3" pipes, no cat, ubend, flo-pro mufflers and two glass packs for resonators. It seems slightly quieter when its warm out but I dont know for sure. I plan on putting the stock mufflers back on it.

    you can put the music up as loud as you want but everthing in the car will now rumble like crazy. I can hear my dash rattle at around 1500 rpm

    Why? I run catless but have a resonator and mufflers...with headers too...I love the way it sounds and a lot of people around town that don't know the car ask me if the damn thing has a small block in it...I laugh and say V6 and drive off...
