Ok well how much boost should I have then with my mods??
not sure about vacuum, but with that cam and pulley you shouldnt see much over 12 psi or so for boost. you dont want to run much more than 13 seeing as how our MAP sensors only read up to 14.7 psi (2 bar).
Well...I was running 13 psi with a 3.25"...can you not just upgrade to a 3 bar MAP incase you run over 14.7 psi?
I have an XP cam too...I run about 20 lbs. of vacuum...hope that helps.
no, you can run over it for sure, but youll have to tune around the computer not being able to read that it is higher than that. i havent really heard of anyone running a 3 bar map because honestly you shouldnt be running over like 13 psi anyway. if you dont have enough flow mods for it to stay that low then youre probably knocking or running a crappy tune.
why do you want one? how can you be running that much boost and not knock? the m90 gets so enormously inefficient and heat producing past a 2.8 pulley that it would be stupid to run that much. get more flow mods before you run a smaller pulley. you dont want more boost.
why dont people get that boost is a measure of restriction. hell, if i could stay at the same power level and have enough flow mods to run 5 pounds of boost i would do it.
there is no reason for you to have one. if youre running 16 pounds of boost from an m90 there is something wrong or you dont have enough flow to use the boost correctly.
it is just nice to have one of those instead of having to change your tune to find what the car likes each day. i cant wait to get mine installed and running how it should. i want to go from less than stock timing all the way up to about 20*.
yea i know. some days it might could use some more, some days it might could use a little less. it would be nice to do it on the fly.
it would really come in handy at the track.
