Ok, a while back I Lost Cyl #4 in my 97 GTP with 180k on the clock. So after a call to Ed I have a 02 Regal L67 and Trans. Drop it in and hook everything up. But now when I go to start it, it just keeps turning over, I can hear the fuel pump priming(primed multiple times) but it wont fire.
Am I missing something?

check ignition module, pcm may need to be programmed for that engine (I had one from a riviera that had to be programed, but one from a camaro didn't)

did you keep the 97 pcm and engine harness? if you did, then you needed to swap the sensors in the motor you put in. the electrics are different in the 97 cars. either that or swap the pcm and wiring harness for an 02.

I kept the 97 PCM and harness but I do have a N* and LQ4 MAF and tune for that. Does anyone know what other sensors need to be swapped?

isnt the ckp different? did the motor come with a balancer too? how about the icm/cmp/ckp harness? if so, that harness could be bad if you used it.
have a scanner? any codes? could possibly be a theft problem?

The plugs arnt getting spark.
The engine came with a balancer(full drop out from charger to oil pan). I've tried swapping the following:
ICM, Coil Packs, ICM wire harness.
Could the Crank Posistion Sensor in the 02 Regal Engine be causing the problem of no spark?

you need to get ahold of the 02 regal pcm pinout and the 97 pinout for your pcm and compare/swap pins around.

^there inlays your problem. seems like you may need to swap a harness, or maybe you could program your pcm to an 02. i dont know if that will work, but it may be a shot

the 97 pcm cannot be reprogrammed with any other year's file. it's too differnet, including physical hardware.
you either will need to swap pcm's and engine harness, and rewire the bulkhead connector on the firewall, or move pins in the engine harness that you have at the pcm connector.

I found it! It ended up being the Crank Position Sensor not seating correctly.
Now she will fire right up, thanks for the help guys!
