I must be getting old, because i have been thinking about trying to quiet my exhaust down a bit. Currently I have headers into a 3" pipe into a 3" by 29" glasspack (no Cat) to 3" mendreal bent pipe to a Y 2.5 out of the Y into two Force 40 (Flowmaster 40 series knockoff brand). I still like the Sound but is getting noticably louder just driving around town. Highway is still good. I dont think there is alot left in the mufflers after 3 mi winters and 60k+ miles.

I would like to start with just replacing the mufflers. I would like to see how quiet i can get it and not hurt flow much. Open to sugestions.

Glass pack is newer and has helped quite it down alot... glasspack is installed as a resonater and is new. Mufflers are the problem area. I also have the resonater from ZZP i can install but the glasspack helped more.

    OR...install a cat...that'll make it REAL quiet

    Not a chance ...

if youre not down for using a cat then look into some borla or magnaflows. i prefer stock mufflers, they are the quietest and still sound decent with a nice glasspack in front of them.

Most of any muffler would probably sound good...Granted that you have either the stock resonator/glasspack/cat/high-flow...or headers...

I got Flowmaster 40's...without a resonator they sounded like CRAAAAAAAAAAP...but when I put in my Pacesetter's and welded in a stock resonator it sounds awesome

I'd install some stock mufflers and see what happens.

I run TOGs, 3" exh (no cat, no res), 2-1/4" Y-pipe, stock mufflers... my exhaust isn't that loud at all and it has no drone at any speed.
