Is there a place where I can find infromation on different pulley sizes and what horse power is expected? Of course as long as you have all the supporting mods.

One more thing, what is the best sounding exhaust. Does anyone know where I might be able to find sound clips?

    Thanks, Rick

I dont think I have ever seen such information. It was my understanding that the 3.4 pulley was good for about 15 - 20 hp, but Ive never seen anything concrete that stated that as fact or used supporting dyno pulls to prove it.

well it is purely opinion on best sounding exhaust, but you should be able to get some good feedback from members here.

Rocky Mountain club gp used to have an extremely nice page w/ a bunch of exhaust sound clips, but they let the domain expire for some reason. I will keep an eye on it and post up if they renew it.

from much of my reading, ppl with supporting mods and with a 3.4" pulley seem to dyno anywhere from ~230-260fwhp. i just read one that had a 3.4" pulley with 1.9 rockers dynoed ~270fwhp. i cant recall what dyno it was on though. it will vary very much on supporting mods as well as tuning the car to run efficient.

I think I have run across that site before and listened to a lot of the clips there. Is there any one that we could contact that might have those clips saved somewhere with all the pertinent information? Maybe we can host them here.

Alex Manton, is evidentally the man to get a hold of. He is one of the leaders of it from what I understand, but I can't find his email or anything yet. I put a post on the other forum so I could get info, I kind of feel like a double agent. haha.
I see you have already started on a project for this, I know rmcgp had a couple videos also. I will see if they just have everything for the old site and have them email me. Then when/if I get the info and whatnot I will let you know

Some links may be dead, I havent had the chance to go though them recently.

edit: just checked them all, all good.

pulley size versus HP is relative to the mods, tune, potential knock, but I think I remember seeing .1 drop = ~7hp best case scenerio

Yes indeed, Knock, tune and mods all come into play on that. and ~7hp/.1" drop would sound about right with the numbers Ive seen for just the 3.4" pulley.

.1=7hp best case is what magnuson says on their website.

Thanks for the info everyone. We should try and start a data base or thread of exhaust clips. I think that would be really cool. I will start searching the net and see what I can find. Another thing that would be nice is a thread where we can list are mods and what HP#'s or track times we have achieved. Make it a sticky so it stays up at the top of the forum so we don't have to search for it.
