hey guys i noticed in the mornings it starts to smoke a little from the driverside front. seems like its under the crossover pipe but not sure. it has an oil smell, but other than that im not sure. i am short on time so im going to take it to a mechanic tomorrow to look at it. i checked the oil levels and its fine, bu the low coolant light came on the other day. i just bought this car a few weeks ago, and since its been rather F'n cold outside i havent been able to give it a thorough check over. although i did get the oil changed. anyone have any ideas what it might be. Im thinking along the lines of he lim gasket but not 100% sure. any insight would be appreciated. especially if i can give the mechanic some ideas. and also i trust this mechanic to be honest, ive known him forever. And i would do this myself but at the moment im lacking a garage to work in.

the EGR tube can be cracked... it is common. if one has been into it...they would bend it out of the way to get the LIM off.... it is possible its cracked.

either that or the donut gasket on the crossover needs replaced. I would get a flashlight and have someone else start the car while you look for the culprit.

    Goodluck!!!

    anyone else have any ideas?

It could be the front valve cover gasket leaking and dripping on the front cover. Did you actually see it comming from the crossover section or do you just think it is comming from there.

ok i just got back from the mechanic, and he thinks its the valve cover gasket, so i went to the dealership and inquired about parts and he ran my vin and its actually covered under a recall. so its a free repair, woohoo. now hopefully that fixes it.
