It helps reduce FALSE KR. Not any actual knock. I prefer jsut throwing in some race gas to see if I have false KR.

I can see where some noise from the transmission may interfere with the knock sensor. But for God's sake don't put it on the knock sensors. I had to try and change one that someone had put that crap on...and it sticks to absolutely everything, and doesn't come off. PITA!

That would suck, particularly with as hard as the back one is to get to. Thats why I will be replacing both of them when I yank out my tranny.

I used some left over scrap from another locals stereo install for my knock sensors, and the transmission. Total cost = free. Couldnt tell you if if helped for sure, but I did it while the engine was out, and it surely cant hurt anything by doing it.

But if you want to see if you have real or false knock, race gas FTW.

Yes, Yes I did, to both sensors. No ILL effects from doing the mod, so like I said...it cant hurt to eliminate false knock. Will even kill audio sounds the knock sensors can pick up as causing false knock. Food for thought.

the only drawback is when it's time to replace the sensor it makes it hard to get out

I wrapped my knock sensors with dynomat extreme too. I did it with the engine in the car, it was a *****, especially the rear. But I got it on there and its a clean install. I just cleaned them off real well and slowly applied them, used screwdrivers for the rear.

I didn't notice any difference, did it because I got the dynomat for free. I have dynomat on my Built Tranny too waiting to go in.
