I have been fighting my 01 GTP for several months now. I have replaced the Rack Power Steering pump exhaust MAF air filter. the car runs fine until it comes tie to down shift/ idle. When down shifting the car it is fine until it seems to hit 1st while hitting the breaks. it dies then jumps back up and makes a horrible detonation time sound every time it does it along with making it very difficult to steer. accelaration is no problem. PLEASE HELP

    Thanks

the hard steering is prolly from the lack of rpms turning the power steering pump when it trys to die. when the motor is only turning 2-3 hundred rpm its not enough to give you power steering. as far as the dying and detonation sound that anouther story. what is the code(s)?

I have the updates on my GTP problems.
-Low volatage MAF i checked Check MHZ Above 1200- i was 3100 3400
    -Vacum leaks/PCV
-Check circuit efficient voltage for MAF circuit Voltage was good
i was also wondering whether or not the PCV Valve under the vacum manifold that feeds the power brakes

No, the PCV valve is under it's own diamond shaped cover behind (toward the firewall) the vacuum manifold.
