what kind of performance gains did you get from them ? did you feel the difference ? did you have to get anything else ? springs , ect ????

now between the modded 1.9 stockers($300) and the 1.9 alum. roller rockers($400) what is the big difference ? would they be worth the extra $100 ?

With the rollers you really need to upgrade springs, etc. So the diff is much more than $100.

If ZZP still has their sale, you can get any of the rockers, +$1 for springs, +$1 for retainers, +$1 for the rocker install kit. However, if the sale is not still on even with the modded stockers you should buy some new (reusable from PRJ) rocker bolts and valve cover gaskets.

If you get 1.9 rollers you would have to change out springs and retainer too, some recommend pushrods. I beleive I heard they are harded on the timing chain tensioner and with an old one that may be a bad thing.

I can't imagine there is much (5) HP difference between the 1.9 modded and 1.9 RR.

Yes you can feel a difference at the top end where the rockers come in to play. Probably good for 20 HP.

They are a good mod that require no real supporting mods and have virtually no negative side effects. One day you will move to a cam, IC, or both but for now this will be nice.

Torque specs on the "new rocker bolts you will be getting".

    If TTY - 11 lb ft +90*
If reusable CC or PRJ - 25 lb ft
Valve covers bolts - 7 lb ft

Make sure your clean the mating surfaces between the VC and the heads. Also using Q-Tips, clean ALL of the oil and metal shavings out of the rocker bolt holes before installing the new rocker bolts.
The assembly lube should be applied to the rocker at the tip where is rest on the valve and the other end where it rests on the pushrod and the sides of the pivot. Go sparingly and eventhough it is a small amount of lube it will do all 12 rockers.
One last thing. ZZP mills out the pedistal so the pushrods will clear. I found those to have sharp edges and burrs, a quick hit with a file fixed that.

you should feel a noticable gain over 4500 with rockers. They open up your top end quite a bit. They also should decrease some kr.

Look at the YellaTerra Kits from INTENSE. $400 but come with new rods, then you just need LS6 springs and valve cover gaskets. So about $500 for a great setup.

I was a victim of the old Intense 1.9's that were wearing on the sides. I ended up getting the 1.8 Comp Cams Pro Magnum roller tip rockers and really didn't notice any difference between the 1.8 and 1.9. What's nice with the Comps is that even though they are steel, they are actually lighter at the roller tip because there is less mass at the tip than the aluminum rockers. I run the LS6 springs with them.
