    '02 GTP Mods are: Canned tune, Headers, Colder plugs, 3.4 Supercharger pulley, 180* thermostat, Stock airbox with K&N filter. I run 93 octane exclusively. I see a degree or so of KR at 3500 rpm, but as I get closer to redline it goes up considerably. At 5500 rpm I get 6* or slightly more. I really don't rev much higher than that because I don't want to destroy my engine, and it's not necessary for any legal driving conditions. Should I be concerned? Will a dyno tune help? Other mods?

    I had these same mods except I have a gen v supercharger and had a 3.5 pulley and a fenderwell intake and I seen a bit of knock here and there I would recommend getting the fenderwell intake or going up a pulley a tune could help but it will just be removing timing which you want more than boost as it gives more power and drivability so before the tune I would recommend doing the first 2 I mentioned will be cheaper as well
    2004 gtp SD headers, e85, #60 injectors, Walbroh 255lph, junkyard custom fender well intake, lq4 MAF, 2.8 Pulley, 1.95 rockers, l76 springs, ssic w/ vw rad shift kit and tranny cooler 275/45r17. BMR trailing and rear control arms, zzp STB's, tubular control arms, Dorman and Addoco sway bars, intense coilovers, all poly. avid av-20s

    A dyno tune will help some. But your pulley is flat-out too small for basically having no mods.

    I would buy an HP Tuner and pull some timing yourself before getting it dyno tuned. you could be running too rich too and that can cause kr.

    So far, the highest I have recorded on my scanner is 253 hp @ around 5500 rpm. I'm careful not to rev above that and I'm not always scanning, so I don't know how much above the stock 240 it will go before it crosses the torque curve.

    That seems counter-intuitive. Why would a larger pulley (less air) make more power?

    a smaller pulley mean more knock and when your car scans that it has more knock it doesn't run as hard so that your engine doesn't blow you can think of it like a limp mode so if you were to remove the knock sensor from the block and just leave it somewhere it will always scan 0.0 knock and put a 3.4 instead of a 3.6 then yes your car will 100 percent run faster but your engine will blow exponentially quicker than the other pulley due to all the unmonitored knock these are one of the toughest engines ever made so blowing one with small mods is not something to be proud of ive seen guys in the metro area run these things with barely an oil and mud as coolant for months no issue haha. so you are not wrong for the first 3400 rpms you are receiving more air and power but once that knock comes at 3500 the guy with the 3.6 pulley will catch back up and then at 5500 rpms he will pull bus lengths lol im exaggerating but you get the idea

    your engine pulls timing advance to prevent damage to the piston, so even though you might have more airflow, it's losing power from knock retard. a smaller pulley heats up the air more, so there will be more knock if you don't have supporting mods.

    I wouldn't exactly consider 13hp a lot more.

    I'd just drop it more. I have a 3.25 pulley I can sell ya. You might see 15° of KR, but...least you can say you are on a smaller pulley!

    Those scanner hp numbers arent that good on your same setup except a 3.6 I was getting blips of 350hp and often seeing 300 plus

    obviously you can't trust everything you read. zzp does a good job of selling their products. who are you going to trust more, a salesman or people with actual experience.

    Sorry, not trolling just find it a little humourous. Timing does make a difference, it's not all about pulley sizes. 6° of KR might cost you 30-60hp. One pound of boost will not make up for that. Not to mention the damage u could be doing. Have u looked at your plugs?

    Example. I tuned a 3" with no knock. Just dropped to a 2.8 and tuned for no knock. But I had to pull 2-3° of timing to do so. I'm in to higher boost earlier, but I could be losing a little or at best have little gain at the top. It's all guess work without a dyno. But I sure as hell wouldn't even consider the drop a success if I had 6° of KR.
