i did mine in steps. mounted the pump and fmhe one morning, takes a bit longer then you like to think, front bumper has to come off, in some cases the hood latch needs to be cut, then ran my hoses up to the engine bay and res tank. ramps are your friend.
the next week i installed the ic. had to trim the alt plastic cover. make sure the batterys un hooked too, you could hit the power cable on the alt.
i also ran a relay to power the pump. i run it full time, when ever the key is to run, its a pumping.
alright cool found the spot and i will definitly be doing the build in multiple steps over a few weekends ill have to use a relay too can i just use one in the fuse box that isnt being used or do i need to buy a special type of relay and i seen that h-bar needs to be cut on the supercharger how neccassary is this?
i got a 30 amp relay, you just run key on power to the relay and wire it up like fog lights. diagrams all over the web for that crap.
H bad you can remove, i took it out on my gen 3, left it there on the 5.
Alright fellas, i have some questions
1. The fuel pump doesnt seem to match up with the canister, the current idea is to hog out the bottom of it and let the pump hang there.
is there a specific way to do it?
2. I got zzps billet fuel logs, their website says to re use the stock pressure regulator, we cant figure out how to remove it and insert it into the regulator housing i got with the fuel logs.
3. How the heck are you supposed to mount the belt wrap? if anyone has pictures of how its installed i would really appreciate it.
what belt wrap you have? i got pics of a wbs and a straight bar one from a guy on fb. fpr has a snap ring holding it in. fuel pump need to sit flat at the bottom, theres a few threads with pics of how to mod the canister for the pump.
I got this bad boy, pretty sure its the WBS design, because a few weeks ago the pics on zzps website had the WBS logo on it (LMAO) Belt Wrap Kit – ZZPerformance
Thanks for the pics scotty
I dug through the forum trying to find the threads on how to install the pump. I only found 2 threads, one had no photos, and the other one seemed like a different canister design.
The issue i have, is that the stock pump used plastic tube through the bottom of the canister to connect to the sock/fuel pickup The AEM pump sock is way to close to get through the hole.
The thought is to hog out the hole a little, and wedge the pump in it. any ideas?
I will take plenty of pic of the housing and how the pump fits.
I broke one of the rubber vacuum Ts specifically the one that connects to the front of the LIM. How do you guys replace those? Some vacuum line and a T fitting?
yup thats all it is
I just installed an aem pump after my venturi walbro left me stranded multiple times and install was a piece of cake used just about everything in the kit zzp gave except the hose because mine was new and the pigtail connector since its the same as walbro im a 2004 but I did use the bottom of a venturi for the install but the sock fit perfectly imo I did have to zip tie the sock to the hole as it was a loose fit and any time I would try to put it in the sock would fall off I did notice right when the low gas gauge comes on you have only about half a mile till your stranded so be warned
