I am having a fuel pump issue. If I run a wire from the battery to the pump it will run. My question is the grey wire at the harness is the power right? If I run a new power and ground should I leave the grey wire separate and just go to the fuel pump or does that grey wire need power too? Also is there a spot that I can tie into the fuse block and relays under the hood so it would not stay on all the time or do I just need to put in a switch?

I believe its the grey wire yes if you check one of my recent posts in this same section called 255 walbro problems at the end is an installed pic showing what wires I had to cut from the harness and directly to the pump as the pump was melting connectors

Ok thanks so do I leave the grey wire alone and just run a new power wire to the pump and if so does the high speed on the fuel pump not work anymore.

if youre doing the zzp I believe you replace the grey wire with the bigger wire and high speed is controlled by the relay make sure you keep that in the system. that grey wire goes from the fuse box to the pump harness

I don’t have the kit I just was testing it by using a hot wire to the pump harness but the other side of the grey wire that goes to the fuse panel is unhooked.
