I did a search and it all came back with results about MPG. So my question is will running 91 without ethanol cause higher cylinder temps possible causing KR if the car is on the edge and with 91 with E10 might be cooler keep the KR away or lower?

this is based on a GTP, headers, exhaust, 3.4, intake, stock tune.

sorry if i am beating a dead horse.

not really a dead horse, but 91 octane is 91 octane is 91 octane. Does that answer your question? as far as I know, there hasn't been any testing done to see what difference the small amount of ethanol makes in gasoline. the thing that makes we think the E10 would be better is that ethanol is oxygenated, so even though it's probably a small difference, the car probably will make more power with the E10.

I guess i was basing my thought process off the guys who switch to corn and are able to pulley down without KR (thinking ethanol makes a cooler cylinder). But as you stated 10% isnt going to show any noticeable changes.

E10 will resist detonation better. It cools the cylinder down but that isn't figured into the octane rating.

For example, e85 is technically only 94-95 octane, but performs similar to 110.

    2005 F350 6.0 - studded, deleted, tuned
    2001 GTP - cam, headers, nitrous, stock trans - 11.83 @ 116 <$2k in mods - sold
