Thread: ZZP ceramic coated exhaust crossover

I've previously installed a front stainless PLOG. Will I need to loosen or remove the front PLOG to install the crossover? Anyone have experience with one? The reason I ask is because the ceramic coating looks cheap. I'm only interested in lowering the underhood temps. Would I be better off just wrapping the existing crossover & keeping the ZZP as a backup in the event of corrosion? For what it's worth, the ZZP SS PLOG lowered my IAT from 40 degrees over ambient to 17 degrees over ambient. Measurements were taken at temp while cruising at 45 mph.

It's cheap because it's lame and doesn't do anything.

Probably.

Unless you're routing the crossover under the transmission like GM should have engineered it...it's not really worth jacking with.

I had that feeling after seeing it in person. Thanks. I'll just wrap my existing crossover.

Knock off the existing shell on it...then wrap it. Either way, the way the exhaust is routed you're better off running E85 or a meth kit to cool intake temps.

If you already have it then just install it. It is a true ceramic coating not just paint. Its not going to help much. You don't have to loosen the plog, just remove the crossover bolts.

Plenty of people still wrap exhaust.
