Hey guys there is a million threads on how to make a gen 3 intercooler work with a gen v but I have found nothing on if a gen v intercooler would work on a gen 3. As far as I can tell it should work fine right?

I've only seen one guy do it.
a very large amount of RTV under the gearbox was required to fill the gap as well as a week or so of time for to cure before you can start the car.
I would imagine it would be a **** to do it and let it cure to find out you have a vacuum leak and have to do it all over again.
It would work great if you could find a spacer flat plate that could fill the Gap and you would just need to use a Gen 5 gasket below and a gen 3 on the blower side
the Gen 5 opening to the Gen 3 intake is no problem the problem is putting the Gen 3 blower onto a Gen 5 opening which leaves a gap at the snout end
Just get the GenV SC, and thank me later...
: )
lol... The money you'd put in to make it work would be better spent on the slightly more efficient GenV. Just sayin...
It wasn't really any money to get it to work it was just a crapload of our TV since dumbass forgot the supercharger oil for the Gen 5 and we had already put on the Gen 5 lower intake.... so we rigged it
Stock cam best you're gonna get is 300-320hp with added support on top of the SSIC and Rockers.
S1X will get you the same, unless you change heads and full stack IC, etc., that could bring you to mid/high 300's.
Again... There are no UNICORNS... Do your research, it's all out there!
Can be made to work with a gen 3 phenolic spacer if you can find one cheap. But I agree always genv lol
On this motor I knew I was gonna go gen v. Just wasn't sure when. I had gen v lim just no gen v. So I installed the gen v lim and actually made the spacer/adapter and ran a gen 3 on it. Made swapping to genv 8 months later a breeze. That and the fact that I planned on an ssic just hadn't got it yet so I also threw on a nodded rail at engine install. Was able to gen v swap without even pulling the rail lol
