New to the forum just recently got a gtp upgraded from my gt, anyways I got a build wishlist so ta say so I know how much to save and right now I'm kind of stuck on heads I've read through a lot of builds it looks like thrasher heads are really good but I can't find any zzp is sold out of there cnc heads and only have $2500 aluminum heads which is alright if it's the only thing left but if not what else is still out there price doesn't bother me a whole lot because I want to just build it right the first time and never touch it again except for maintenance so any suggestions what's the best bang for the buck heads and where do I get them, on the other end of things would I be better off just getting bigger valves for mine and trying to find somewhere to port & polish them (in Texas if you got any suggestions) thanks for reading

you cant really cant get bigger valves, they are just about touching as is. might be cheaper to have em done local, AL heads are a huge waste of money if you ask me.

and you might want to tell us what cam your planning on, some stage heads might be to much for the cam your thinking of. most cams dont even need the heads ported. but it does help them to flow better.

Zzp sells oversized valves? Idk if there just barely oversized I just figured anything that would help and right now I'm indecisive because I don't really care about more torque I'm happy with that I know it's gonna come with the mods but I don't want a torquey cam but the high hp ones on zzp say they make power past 6500rpm but that seems high what kinda rpms can these 3.8s take before they give out?

all depends on how deep your pockets are really. if your willing to spend money, just turbo and buy a built tranny. you cant grin any bigger then when you have a turbo.

6500 is about as high as I would go to stay somewhat reliable.

You mentioned heads and maintenance free. Better hard parts in the 4T65e trans is probably a good investment.

The funny thing is there really is no mystery to the 3800 L67 platform as almost everything you can think of has been tried and done to eek out the last bit of HP from it. So what's left then? Making a plan on what you want and how deep your pockets are!

    FAST/CHEAP/RELIABLE

You can only have two of those three at any one time, so chose wisely!

So the question is what do you want? 350HP or 600? Lol... DD or track car? And not being a jerk to say it, but a wish,it's is not a plan! Make a plan, know exactly what you are going to do, then do it. That's it... Once you decide then the plan is set, no need to guess, just assemble the parts and build. Make sure you save up too for unforeseen issues, lol, don't ask... ; )

    Reliable....lulz

The engine in the turbo Regal is a bone stock hundred and fifty thousand mile l67 that has dyno'd 608 whp at 16psi...and been all the way up to 26 PSI.

This is the 12th time we've broken the transmission and the car sits on jack stands yet again....
If you want something sort of reliable your best bet is a rear-wheel-drive f-body or a 3800 swapped Catera or GTO.... that way you could at least use a conventional rear wheel drive trans that is much cheaper to make handle the power
