You're doing an aftermarket cam? Generally, that'll limit you to stock ratio rockers, unless it's a low lift cam like the VS or NIC, then you can go to 1.7s. You can go to roller rockers to lose some valvetrain resistance, but going to high ratio rockers on an aftermarket cam without a lot of forthough can cause some real damage.

Some people go with 1.6:1 or 1.7:1 ratio roller rockers when they go cammed.
The roller rockers are lighter and stiffer, and therefore will allow the engine to rev faster, won't flex as much when it is putting pressure on the spring, and the roller tips put less stress on the valve stem.
I don't imagine that you would want to go any higher than 1.7:1 on most cams.
The stock rockers are around 1.6:1 for reference.

    I agree with BiggRiggs.

The main reason why I would go with rockers and a cam is for the roller rockers and have them lighter, yet more durable/stiffer. I would probably keep the stock ratio.
