Hey I found a 3800 supercharged engine with low miles. It have the full harness and computer for 200. Would it be a good idea to install it in my 97 grand prize GT?

I just paid $300 (plus an additional $110 for shipping) for an S/C engine with 100k miles on it to put into my 99 GT. the yard apes at the junk yard cut the harness, but it had the ends I needed to make it work.
Wat All did you have to do to put it in because it have the harness and computer with it and i already have my old engine out of my car

Do some more research before you jump on it. 97 GPs use the 4t60e trans which uses vacuum, 98+ don't, not a big issue. The Pcm on 97s are also a little different, same connectors but I believe you need to use a 97 pcm, one from a gtp would work but you'll need to program it for the gt trans. There's probably a few things I'm missing.
It can be done it's just not as simple as dropping it in and plugging in the Pcm. If you get a 97 gtp motor, trans, Pcm, and harness then it would be that simple.
A tune is always a good idea anyways.

There's more then $300 in parts to rebuild a tranny, most run $1500-3000
So how many junk trannies have gone through?
