Might check the oil pan gasket if I remember right they're a pita to replace once engine is in
so got the engine on the cherry picker, thought I'd take a few picks

put it in the red car
BBV is missing from the arrow.
the red car is a 1950 Ford my dad bought back in 1960. brother and I "resto modded" that one. has a 302 with a mild cam, duals with an X pipe, custom interior, frenched in headlights, taillights, etc etc. FiTech fuel injection sitting on the side ready to go on instead of the edelbrock 4BBL
The red is a dam sexy color, all I can think of when I see that is "the loner" from the mask.
the color is called Candy Brandy Wine and if I had $1.00 for ever time I heard that the paint job would be paid for! there are 4 base coats of gold, 5 of the maroon candy, 5 coats of clear. sand the clear smooth (roughly sand 2 coats of clear off) then 2 more coats of clear back on. expensive paint job! The car in the mask is a Studebaker Commander if I recall correctly.
started to rip into the engine today and I believe it has had the LIM done before, also found a few extra bolts on top of the manifold. took the LIM off and found this greeting me

That engine looks cooked man. A little burnt up in there. Like it did not receive regular oil changes at all. Maybe others can chime in…. I hope it doesn’t give you any trouble. Below are pics for comparison. That’s my engine at 243,000 miles.

I'd like to get the rest of the engine that nice...
should have de greased it before you tore it apart. once you button it up , wheel it out side de grease it, wire wheel or brush it, clean with brake cleaner, then paint it.
Get rid of that damn EGR and plastic idler pullies.
Lame.
plug the oil sensor to before it leaks on you
so I noticed the coil packs are different from NA to SC engines? saw this when I was going to put the new plug wires on.

I don't think that matters, the way your NA ones are is the way my SC ones are. That 1 4 one on your sc motor should be 4 1. If you get a misfire when you start up then swap the plugs on the coil. When you buy replacement ones, say from rock auto, they don't have any numbers on them.
Yeah, I was gonna say...
lol, in what world are 3800 coils "different"
You should check the part number on it, make sure its not an inferior pack
