So I saw this today and I know I need to do something for sure.

I've read about this and I've watched a few videos but I still have a bunch of questions.

So here are the first few questions

Where is the best place to buy lim gaskets and the supercharger gasket?

    Whats the best brand?

How long should I expect the job to take??

I got mine from Rock Auto.

    GM or Fel-Pro.

My mechanic buddy did mine. He tore it down Friday night, and finished it on Saturday. He took his time and I think that was around 5-6 hours. A shop being paid would probably be closer to the 3-4 hour range.

I have a list of the parts I used here.....

EDIT: Looks like I made a note on my write-up.... book time is 4.6 hours, for NA of course.

rock auto, buy the magnum kit, it costs less and comes with lots of extra gaskets and injector o rings.

and thats your valve cover bolt with the fluid over it, never seen a lim gasket leak coolant up there, the lim bolts get covered in coolant. not the vc bolts.

I think I'm going to do this myself... The mechanics around here aren't worth a damn.

its only scary looking with the fuel rail and harness all plugged in, once that crap is off its all down hill.

Here's a how to video that I followed, do your valve cover gaskets and bolt garments while at it. You don't have to do lifters, the ls7 lifters are noisy anyways.

So I can get the gaskets ordered today and the coolant elbows too but I have school all week and it's like a 45 minute drive both ways will it be okay to drive this car?

I watch the temperature really closely with torque pro but I dont know if it will leak more.

    Is that oil or water?

I'd clean it and see what comes back. LIM's don't typically leak there fwiw
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Come to think of it I filled up the oil before I left that day and I spilled some so that is probably oil.

My dipstick was reading really weird though. I took it out I wiped it off and I put it back in and when I pulled it out again it had nothing. So I freaked out but then I tried the same thing later and it said nothing again, but when I put it in a 3rd time I moved it around a little bit and it said it was full.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Depends.. was the engine running when you checked the engine oil? if yes.. the problem is your method. Turn engine off.
If you are parked reasonably level with engine off, you should see it. If not.. where did it go?

As for the gasket.. I'd say that oil looked too clean to me and you spilled it. Wipe if off and cancel your gasket order. Problem that needs to be fixed is between the steering wheel and seat.

There's coolant leaking all down the side of the engine though so I think it still needs lim gaskets. I'll take pictures if that if I get out of class early though

Which side? Could be a bad water pump gasket or just cracked coolant elbows.

It's the elbow on one side but the other side it's coming out above the coolant temp sensor.

Which is often the end cap where the coolant does a turn around. It's not common for the NA TB gasket to leak, but it can happen. Snap a pic or two. Let's see what you got happening. Then we can guide you to the most cost effective fix.

So this is under the supercharger

And here is around the coolant temp sensor

I'll take some by the fuel injectors because there's a lot of crap next to them

looks like your lim bolts are all leaking coolant.
