Do you have to set the valve lash when installing roller rockers?
|
There is no lash adjustment on a hydraulic lifter engine like the 3800
You can crudely estimate lifter preload by counting rocker bolt turns, but that's about it.
Torque them down and go!
Unless your running the OE-R lifters by Comp Cams, its install and go.
If your running those lifters, you need to run adjustable rockers, then you get to adjust last.
Or...running a thinner head gaskets, with machined heads, and a decked block...you end up with little longer push rods, so adjustable roller rockers come into play again.
