tranny wont work, but you can install the engine, then get a gen 3 to 5 tb adapter plate and a tuned pcm for the engine swap.

So the pcm out of my 98 won't work? So regardless my trans won't work period? Can't I use the na trans and use the 3.8 torque converter?

its the hook up of cables and plugs, and the way the tranny works in a 04. you would swap the flex plate so the engine fits the na tranny's converter.

the pcm is not he same at all. dont even look the same, nor are the plugs to it the same. 04 up has 3 plugs.
