Okay, should be my last post on here questioning this job! (Car is 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.8L Series 2 engine)

I just want to clarify parts needed and parts I should buy for this job!
I don't want to fix her up and have to break her back down a few months down the road... Soo..

Short story... Engine is leaking (from LIM?..) And Dex coolant is turning to sludge.. Car is getting hot!

    So...
    New plenium?
    New IUM gasket
    New LIM gasket
    New Radiator..
    New thermostat..

What else should I do? Water pump??

    Coolant and Oil...

Can anyone provide me part numbers that are recommended?
Or links to Rock Auto.. Amazon?.. Whomever gives a good deal..
Thanks in advance, this car is stressing me out. I've never done a job like this before.

Disregard the orifice tube, thats for another job. Water pump, cap, and belt is up to you. If it has 100k on the water pump, I'd just replace it. Belt, any cracks/dry rot or wear replace it. Cap is if the current one is dirty or not holding pressure. Tuneup, lasts 100k. Fuel filter should be every 30k. And valve cover gasket, replace if the current ones leak at all. They always leak at least a little by 100k. Everything else is mandatory really. I chose to buy a new upper intake which came with the gasket, since the oem one is known to fail around the EGR port.

    Interesting responses you have gotten.

Navy shows you what the mechanic would order automatically. Me, I've been around these too long to throw parts where they aren't needed w/o fixing the overall issues. Allow me to walk you through the what and why

Here's what can happen to your upper manifold and the why
    http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...hlight=failure

The real fix to this issue is not to put a new manifold on, but to actually remove the coolant from the equation/area. Here's a thread that shows how I block off the coolant ports and open up the turn around area to increase flow for the reduction caused when blocking the ports.

Okay I'm going to order stuff today. Could you suggest a different ordering option for the gasket that seems to be plastic?
I read some reviews on the item and people were also saying it was plastic?

So I've only had time to drain my oil and coolant. I'm going to wrench on the car tomorrow...

    One question before I start..

How do I turn off electronic climate control?
    refering to this forum ..

    http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com...1b9f885a5a7b32

"Turn off Electronic Climate Control Gearhead Stan reminds you that before you disconnect the battery, it is a good idea to turn the Climate Control off, with the ignition key in the on position. This will minimize the potential for damage to the airmix door actuator that can occur if you don't."

Just push the left turn knob in.

    For digital HVAC anyway.

    What?

I said the HVAC unit itself has a off button on the left turn knob, this is for the digital hvac only.

Also, I never unplug the battery when doing these repairs anyway but thats because I'm a a rebel and don't care.

Im trying to get the fuel rail off. Quick question.
    Where is this valve cap?

Relieve the pressure in the fuel rail by unscrewing the valve cap near the fuel pressure regulator

you may not have a cap any more. on the rad side of the rail theres a valve inside looks like a large tire air valve, push the pin in it will spray fuel out, cover the valve with a rag watch your eyes.
