Why did you need a new blower ?
only if sally comes with it..... lol
Shhsh you. Let him answer ;)
The previous one was run dry. I replaced the fuel filter and it seemed to run fine for a while. Could go WOT with 0 knock. Well i was only getting half boost. Figured that out i think, took it out and runs ****ty again. I was able to drive, get into boost in first gear no problem, second gear it spikes again, wants to die and hardly lets me accelerate without choking and bucking. Turned the car off and on again, can drive it but its still bucking somewhat. This makes no sense. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't. When i did the filter i was able to do 3 100+ pulls without a problem. Maybe a vacuum leak or something? I looked for them but i couldve missed one. Maybe a bad MAF? I have no idea.
Ignition or fuel related. Plus that extreme downshift who knows what that did
Could it be in the tune? Pinched fuel line maybe? ICM with a bad ground?
if you had a pinched fuel line you would get no fuel to the rail. it might be the tune is messed up.
Okay. Could a bad 02 have anything to do with it?
So I guess you got your blower then? Also recheck since you changed wires and plugs, maybe one isn't seated properly. I doubt it would be O2 pretty sure they are ignored under WOT.
Jeff
Yeah sure did! They all seem to be seated well. I just don't get how it can be so random.
Ok cool you did remember to fill it with sc oil right? Do you have a way to scan to check timing? I had a knock sensor that was bad and the engine would just lay over at times to the point I would wait for traffic it would shoot to 15* atdc, but other times it was fine.
Jeff
I sure did! I have the torque app on my phone, so yeah i can watch the timing. Ill take a look at it tomorrow.
Glad it got there in good shape. That should tell you a lot. Not sure if your car supports cylinder misfire but may want to check it too.
Jeff
Its not throwing any codes either. I know when i first got it back together i would have misfires but that was because the icm wasn't grounded well enough. Fixed that and never had another issue so i don't think its that again.
ok really silly question how old are you coil packs?
That's a good question. 13 years? They're the stock ones from the 02 as far as i know.
there could be the problem. they may be on the way out and causing random misfire thats hard to track down. go get 3 new one NOT THE MSD ones just the stock ones and see if it goes away.
Torque app shows misfires per cylinder I think. I don't really see how bad coils would cause kr though. But I will tell you that new coil packs really woke my car up. I was seeing occasional misfires and my car just felt weak. New coil packs and the misfires got real bad. I could hear the sparks snapping through my plug wires. New plug wires then, and it was like a new car.
You did plugs, so which ones and what gap? Have you done wires lately? Some will say that coils are not necessary unless you find a definite bad one, that they are not a maintenance item. I'd disagree from my experience. It was only like 65 bucks for 3 new OEM ones from Amazon, cheap insurance I think.
I put new wires on when I did the swap, so they're three years old. I'm running AL104's gapped at .050. I have three other coils off of the donor car that I may try swapping out before I buy new coils.
When you pull them off see how tight they are. My old ones you could tip the ICM over and they would practically fall off. New ones took a bit of force to get them on the terminals, nice and tight. Who doesn't like a tight fit?
