My 97 Pontiac Grand prix is leaking coolant but not from the radiator or the hose. So where could it be leaking from?

I see it's dripping under the timing belt then falls to the bottom of the engine

coolant elbow or the water pump.

you have one elbow at the lim to the alt bracket, they break and leak, your year has a another cast elbow with a o ring on the alt bracket, that o ring can fail and leak.

the water pump, car off, with two hands grab the w/p pulley then push with one hand, pull the other, then back and fourth, if you feel play the pump is bad, it leaks from under its snout out the weep hole there.

I think it is my water pump the faster I spin it the more coolant leaks out 👀

sounds more like a coolant elbow. water pumps are a slow off on leak, leak more car off vs on too.

take some pics and post em if you can of your elbow. my lower cast elbow did leak on me as well.

cold engine, and off. follow the heater core hose tube at the alt bracket as it turns inside to the block, your fingers and hand will fit in there, if you feel its wet back there under where the cast elbow meets the block that elbow is leaking.

got a good pic of what im talking about, see the left side pipe leads to the engine? follow the outer pipe to the timing cover.

Just so you are aware, we have timing chains not belts. What you are thinking of is the serpentine belt.

Maybe after he shut the car off the coolant dried off from the heat of the engine?
