I am looking at buying an slp airbox and was looking for some opinions on these particular setups. They don't look too much different than the stock airbox aside from not having the baffles in the box and using the cone filter instead of the stock type. Would this be worth buying or would just throwing in a k&n filter in the stock box be good enough? My car is just a daily driver.
    Thanks!

Would there really be any benefeit to the slp box instead of just dropping in a k&n panel filter?

Don't put in a k&N drop in filter, with my experience the oil on the filter clogged up my MAF sensor, therefore i had to replace it. K&N drop in's are a rip off. No performance what so ever. Save your $50.00

I didn't oil it at all. I took it straight out of the box and slapped it in.

Yeah a lot of people do over oil theres though. In my opinion they are overoiled from the factory. If you look at the bag they come in there's oil all over the bag.

I'm going with AEM Dry flow when my K&N is in need of servicing. I'm done with oil based air filters.

Hmm, I have heard something before about the oil on the k&n's being bad for maf sensors. I figured as long as it was not over oiled it would be fine. I looked at the one for our cars and it is quite a bit thinner and less restrictive looking than a stock paper filter.
