    Hello fellow GP enthusiasts

I was driving home the other day and my rad hose popped off the top of the radiator, pissed coolant everywhere, I didn't notice until my car started making a ticking noise and shut off completely about 1/2 KM later.

I opened the hood to billowing white smoke and the smell of burning coolant, after realizing what happend I had an "oh ****" moment

    So, what I have done:

    Change oil right away
    new coolant
    replace rad hose and clamp
replace #6 and #3 spark plugs (Were throwing a mis-fire code)

Before I replaced those spark plugs the engine was shaking really violently at idle but smoothed out with any throttle. It has since smoothed out to a reasonable level and isn't throwing any misfire codes (yet) and I was wondering if there is anything else I should check?

    Thanks,
    Donny

So it's still running funny or what are you asking now?

You might need new wires if it still runs sorta rough, that would be a cheaper solution and clean and check the coil packs.

Well just drove a couple miles to pickup my sister at work and seems rough again... Just realized 3 and 6 share a coil pack so that's what I'm gonna check when I get home

    Another update:

Wasn't the plugs, wires or coil packs.. Thinking of renting a compression tester to see if it's a chipped piston or something, the plug wasn't mangled so I'm hesitant about that.

I was also thinking it could be a rocker or a bent rod?

Any thoughts on the matter gurus?

The PO could have chipped it and replaced the damaged plug. If you can get a borescope to check that would be good

Edit: saw your gonna do a compression test.

Let's level set here. NA usually doesn't chip a piston Overheating badly can crack a head/kill a head gasket. Still..it does take a lot.

Saying it's running bad is tough to diagnose. Could you post a video?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Did the coil packs get covered in coolant? Might've fried the ICM...

I also...have overlooked which section it is in many many times. It's mainly because I read all new posts all the time. Totally understand, when he didn't specify either.. I don't assume either.

You can't really tell because of the video stabilization but the engine shakes quite a bit more than the video let's on

Im thinking a bad head gasket. Sounds almost like mine when mine went out. Go get a block tester from autozone and test to see if you are getting exhaust fumes through your radiator. If the liquid turns a different color, it means you are.

how about we fix that vac leak too. all the hissing is a vac leak. car at idle spray some carb cleaner at the lines, when the idle jumps up you found the leak area.
