I have a 2000 GP and my fuel gauge is not working. When i start the car, the gauge is in position where I would estimate the fuel level to be. As soon as the car has been moving for 10 minutes or so, it will move to full then work it's way down to empty, then back and forth. I have changed the fuel pump and the instrument cluster already.

Any other ideas on what is going on with it??

    TIA

To me sounds like a bad sending unit or possibly a bad ground.

After using the search function, I have found the sending units are common to go bad.

Is the sending unit part of the complete fuel pump module?

    TIA

I would probably say it is the fuel level sensor, I had the samething go out on my 01 GP, they are not too teribly bad to replace if you plan on doing it yourself. There is a access door through your trunk that you can take off and have access to you fuel pump module, just make sure that you have a half of tank or less or you might make a mess with gas in your trunk. If you take your GP to a repair shop make sure they do not charge you to drop the tank and a additional charge to drain your tank.

    Hope this helps!!
