So my friend is in the process of building his fiero. he bought it with the l36 swap done. Since then he top swapped it and is now in the process of being intercooled and possibly more.
My friend has brought up rockers over cam to me a few times. he says with the right rockers it can perform as well as the VS cam.

Ive told him just to do xp and mirror his GTP build with xp e85 and intercooler

so as of now his car sits Intercooled, 3.2, top swapped GenV, N*.

please let me know what you guys think of his plans. all help would be greatly appreciated

    Vs cam < rockers

I've had both wasn't happy with the performance of the modified 1.9. Went cam and noticed much more of a difference but the install for rockers are easier so really depends on what he wants. IC and vs cam make a awesome combo. Same thing goes for IC and rockers.

he was looking for more of the ease part of it. i think he should cam it before rockers personally but figured i should get others opinions first and share with him.

Either way he should already be happy with his set up. Remember how light the Fiero is compared to our cars. Power to weight ratio. I guess if he wants a bit more top end then rockers are a good option. I would go E85 before I go with rockers or cam.

If all he cares about is power in the higher RPM then go with rockers. If he wants power through the entire RPM then he should look at a cam.

I've always felt that going cam was half a job... Meaning if you go cam, go big, which means doing the heads too to realize all the gains the cam will provide. So....

He's gotta have some sort of plan or expectation of what he wants from the engine. That'll dictate what to do, plain and simple.
