    Greetings and Salutations!!

Hi, I'm one of those posters that start a thread with their first post.

What are the best snap ring pliers for removing the snap ring that holds the MAF screen in place?

This is the screen at the entrance of the throttle body.

The snap ring measures 3.5 inches in diameter and the holes for the pins are .047 inches in diameter.

I've already taken the snap ring out using two picks, but now I want to put it back in using the correct tool.

The engine is a 2000 Buick 3800 Series II V6.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I picked up a set from Sears that will do internal or external. Meaning the handle changes so they can work on any type of snappy ring.

When I buy a tool, the more it can do the better, the free lifetime warranty and always buy a tool only once if possible.

The description in the link says those pliers will handle snap rings from 3/8 to 2
inches in diameter. Will they still work on a snap ring as large as 3.5 inches?

It's the space between holes that you need to measure, not the overall size of the ring.

I use that exact set for everything, TB's, transmissions, name it. Never had a problem.

PS.. Seeing you are new here....Welcome! Also as you look around, you'll understand better that I wouldn't steer you wrong for anything you are asking. If I haven't done it, I'll tell you straight up "think, try and maybe". If you have any bolt on your car and you'd like to know where it goes.. just ask.
