I took off the power steering pump without a problem to replace my water pump but I'm having a hell of a time trying to get it back. I just cant get the bolts to line up with the holes, I've been going at it for about an hour. Any tips on how to get it to line up nicely?

I found it to be easier to start the bolts with a socket and 3in extension "no ratchet" from in the wheel well and then finishing them off from above.

I also connected both hoses first before bolting to the block, because for some reason I could not get the pressure line to line up.

I didn't think about going at it from the wheel well, that might work a little bit better. I'll try that thank you!

Left hand to hold the pump up. Put the socket on the top bolt so it sticks out all the way. Look where it's about to go..then move in for the kill. You'll feel it when it lines up. Then after the top is started, put your socket on the lower bolt and slowly move the bottom of the pump away from the block and you'll have the second.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
