I dropped the Trans pan and changed the filter and gasket. It leaked so I got a fel pro OE style gasket. It still leaks.. Ugh. Is it new pan time? I torqued the pan Cris cross and gradual to 120 in lbs. from the center out. 04 GP N/A 135K mi. Anybody have the exact torque sequence? It's a 20 bolt pan.

Re-use the original gasket if it looked good when you took it off. Other than that you've done the right things so far.....only thing to add would be to make sure that the mating surfaces where the gasket goes on both pan and trans itself is absolutely spotless.

Also make sure the pan isn't bent a bit if you let it hang by too few bolts when draining. I used an aftermarket gasket and torqued less than spec and it's dry as a bone. I also used a gasket scraper and got the surfaces very clean. The pan usually gets corrosion build-up on the mating surface.

The pan being a little bent is the only thing I can think of. I got a new one and I'll try again this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

Okay I put the new pan on and no leaks! I think my torque wrench was off and I over tightened it. The old pan was dimpled at the holes making it leak between bolts. Thanks guys!
