Hello All! I have an important Road trip coming up this weekend, and i'm not completely convinced that my car will make it. I have a 2008 Grand Prix with 92,000 miles on it. I have to travel from Toronto to Calgary and back. The car has all the new tune up stuff, but lately, i've had some minor shift issues in the tranny. It shifts rough from 1st to 2nd and to 3rd, but only occasionally, and also depending on the heat. I'm planning on doing a rad flush and oil change and all the good stuff before the trip, I just wanted to double check with some experienced members of the forum about any advice or anything that might help me out

Rent a car if you feel there are issues and that it wont make it. Any reputable shop will not do a trans service if you having shifting issues. Fluid exchanges are for preventive maintenance. They will not solve existing issues. With 92k miles you are over due for trans service. I agree about the lucas trans additive. It does miracles!

I refuse to go any road trip with any transmission issues. To much of a risk especially if you are that far away from home.
