hey everyone, doing some exhaust work.....removed cat and rez and installed flowmaster 40's, but the sound is very nasty (not good nasty) above 2000 rpm. everything is tight and there are no leaks....so what's up? thinking about either putting rez back on or putting cheap cat (magnaflow universal). read lots of info about other peoples tries at the sound...any more expert advice out there?

Found the problem. Flowmasters are about the worst muffler for this engine. If you want something, look into Magnaflow or something like Borla or Corsa.

You should stick with the stock exhaust, unfortunately I have yet to find an exhaust that sounds good on a 3800.

I got Flowmaster 40's and I love them. I got a Custom 3" piping after the catless Pacesetter's with the stock Resonator.
