A CAI compared to a HAI will make zero difference what so ever.

Sure, go ahead and spend $150+ on a box over a filter.

Hmmm do you have a link for the tubing? We only have Menards and home depot here and I couldn't find anything. Here's the tubing I used on my SSei.

That's arguable. I know there are threads that claim different numbers and say on a dyno a hai made more power. Complete garbage comparison if you ask me as the hood was open.

And why is it that my car runs better with cooler intake air temps then? I'm not going by stats or threads I'm going off real world numbers and performance

    Lol. Possibly.

Not that I'm gonna spend 1/8 of that but that's what I had on my car before with the filter in the fender well and ambient intake temps. I'm in the city a lot and don't care what other people post. My car is boggy when 140+ AIT come in

Anything over 120-130 intake temps will retard timing, hence why you feel slower.

But for the most part while moving temps fall to 10-15º from ambient temps, so for most people you'd have to be sitting for a few minutes to let the temps rise that much.

I see. When moving its still usually 20+ degrees over. Last week was 87 and saw 120* temps all day. I don't do constant interstate/hwy driving so maybe that's where my temps differ. And I'm not saying one intake setup is better than another , but when I had that "dryer tubing" from intense and the cone in the fender well I believe the most I saw was 5* over ambient and the car never felt boggy.

    Unfortunately I don't have a link.
I used three 3"hubless rubber couplers,
    3" 45° angle tubing
    1 piece of 3"straight tubing.
    And some aluminumized insulation.

so it wasn't flexible tubing? Only reason, Is I just want to 'try' to get this in the fenderwell... I really did notice an improvement in the car with cooler temp, and that cant be from a hai, obviously

my filter is behind my bumper.
It is ran through the fender and out under the headlight.
No it isn't flex tubing. I matched all of the Pvc tubing so that I wouldn't have any different size piping and it would be smooth from the filter to the TB.

Didn't know this was a beauty contest?! Lol
I've tried K&N, wizardaire, and warrior. This works better than anything I've ever bought.

Btw, its getting painted black. I agree with you that the look is WAY to much of an eye sore.

The fact is that you are in total control of your eyes, if you don't like it stop looking at it. Believe me I'm not begging for your input.

I consider it good for the first attempt, I'm willing to bet your next go will look a lot better. You should have seen my first attempt..... it was sad.
