Hey so my buddy is getting rid of his GP and has a HV2 with not too many miles on it, he said he'd give it to me for $50, is it worth it? and I know your supposed to lose some low end power but is it a noticeable amount? thanks, mike

if you mean the HV3 yes it is worth that.....you dont lose much if any low end....gain a 7hp throughout the power band and close to 20 or so at the 6K mark...buy it. They are 200 new

GET IT. For 50 bucks if I wasn't about to topswap I'd be all over that. The HV3 is an awesome mod for an N/A car and usually costs 200 plus tax and shipping.

no, an HV2. its an old design that needs a little tweaking to actually run right, but i think it outperforms the HV3.

those things gave some mega top end for a GT. if you ran a GT2 cam with it youd have a consistent mid thirteen second n/a car. on street tires with big rims too.

Really? Damn, I thought it was alot harder than that to put a GT into 13s.

just the hv2, or would an hv3 be capable of this too?

HV3 is the updated one...IIRC it is more torque friendly then top end friendly last I checked.

x2. now pardon my ignorance, but how would this compare to a top swap? would this be faster then a top swapped GT? slower? or pretty damn close?

Probably pretty close, that's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw that lol. But I still wanna topswap because the blower whine is addicting

a top swap has way more potential. a cammed GT will run mid 13s with the right setup, but you dont really have much more room to grow without a decent amount of spray.

Go to the track and find out.... No one can tell you what you are going to run. I should in theory run mid 13's but my pb is 14.4.

I looked for a full supercharged engine at many local junk yards all want 800 or more. Ive really thought of a fully gasket matched NA engine with cam, hv2 buick intake highest compression i could squeeze out of it and still do a 75 shot direct port on a buick intake. I think id make a really nice daily driver and interstate cruzer and the hits there if you need it. So in short l32 block GTP heads bigger valves if im not mistaken, ported and matched intake and exhaust ports, HV2 buick metal intake top and direct port NOS, im sure that would give even a modded GTP a hell of a run. Oh X2 on the 255/55/16 slicks on stock torque stars.
