    How do I take off the cylindrical looking head thing that my intake goes into I want to paint it and don't want to mess it up

    Um what? You mean the air tube going into the intake box?

    No the cylindrical thing that is right under the 3800 v6 plastic cover right on top of the engine

    Okay.
    Im not going to type out everything just search for lim gaskets replacement in the search box here or google or youtube you will find a video showing you what you need to do and why you should replace your lim gaskets since you are about 10 bolts away from removing the upper intake.
