Before I changed my LIM gaskets on my '97, I used to get 22-25mpg. Not great, but respectable. Since changing the gaskets, I remain below 20. Idling seems to really suck the gas. Engine has plenty of power and sounds normal. Any thoughts, things to check?

I cleaned the MAF and TB when I had them off. Did new spark plugs & wires, injector O-rings, thermostat, water pump, radiator, hoses, belts, air filter. Oil change after 500.

You change the plugs before or after you fired it up the first time?

I'll have to check which plug brand, but I before I fired it up the first time.

Not sure on the mileage, but the fuel filter is probably due to be changed.

No gas smell. I did have a leak right after I did the job. It was right at the front elbow going into the fuel rail. I replaced that though.
