    I live in minnesota so our weather is always messed up. Just wondering what temp thermostat I should put in my 01 gp gt. I believe there's a 180 in there now

    stock 195 unless you have a tune for the fan settings the 180 is useless
    dhp tune, sd lip, shiny stuffs, retros, gen 2 spoiler, gpo's, pregens

    I bought the car from a lady. I don't know if it is tuned or not.

    If you're N/A I'd stick with the 195 no matter what. Most people use a lower temp to lower KR a bit, but on an N/A motor even an Overkill tune by itself will solve that.

    195 degree thermostat, it is stock and you get better heat in the cabin as far as I'm concerned. Plus better MPG because 190-210 degrees the temperature these cars want to run at. The more heat your car has would also burn of condensation in the oil.

    The previous owner of my car put in a 160 degree thermostat and I automatically had it removed and put in a 195. Some people think the car would be faster with the lower thermostats, others put them in to prevent the car from overheating. Even though if your car had an overheating condition a lower thermostat would not fix it, heck it won't even put a band-aid on the problem.
