I want to take my hvIII out and sell it but I am tuned for it and don't think it would not be a good idea to take it out.
OHHH I know how you feel!!! I just started mine last week, it went for it's first test drive yesterday!!! I'm still smiling!! LOL

Yeah, I don't think there are any tuning specifics for the HV3 so removing it will not be an issue!! Also, pretty down pipe or not, it's a down pipe with the u-bend deleted out, take a pic of it and throw it and the HV3 in the for sale area see if you get any bites. Sure someone wants it!!!

I'm pretty sure that the exact opposite is true.

    lol.
Right.. Since I put mine in and took it back out without changing the tune.... It's not a high dollar engine that is affected by each tiny little flow mod.

What do you want for the hv3? Does it actually make a difference? ZZP claims 30hp. (doubt that) Just curious.

EJOUIE gets first dibs if he still wants it.
zzp claims 30 whp but that is with rockers, I got the hv3 and got tuned on 91 octane pretty much at the same time but I noticed alot more power after 4000 rpms

Even with rockers.. All you gain is a little more top end. You don't gain anywhere close to 30 wheel from those too.

So you never tuned for the hv3 at all? Then that makes sense why there wasn't much issue when it was removed. He is already tuned for it, so it would be an issue to remove it (although relatively minor).

And yes, still interested in the hv3 just need pics.

I tuned the car... Installed it... Tuned it a month later again.... Then uninstalled it. No difference but a little less top end.

Quit acting like it makes a difference when it doesn't. Obviously you've never installed one in a car.

If I could do it all over again.. I wouldn't have done the hv3. I would have done a plog and dp. Slight headwork, bigger than normal cam and nitrous.

I figure with the HV3, the more air your flowing through it the bigger the gain from it.

More for the turbo guys rather than an NA mod.

You aren't flowing "more" air... Nothing is forcing more air into the motor, just creating easier pathways... Similar principal as the screen on the MAF...

The HV3 is a good mod, is it worth $200? Nah not really better to get it used. But it makes a pretty good difference. Id say at least an honest 10-15hp nothing more then that and yes its mainly top end where its needed.

And my buddy's impala still only made 180 to the wheels with it and 1.9s.

I ran 14.95 with fwi, HV3, headers, full exhsudt, and tuning. Also running 87! And sub and tools in car.

Not true. The insert is changing the length of the intake runners. Short runners will flow more air because of less restriction. This creates more top end power. Long runners make a little more restriction and forces incoming to increase its speed. This speed increase helps create a sight ram effect that improves throttle response and low end power. So you see that the short runners of the HV3 will allow more air into the engine at the cost of low end power.

what I said was misleading... It more efficiently flows the existing air into the intake ports. Without inserts in the UIM the air is distorted. These channel the air, make more efficient use of it... Helps flow, not force.. I understand it, just can't word it dang it.. LOL
