    Hi guys, my 04 blew , the connecting rod shot through the bottom of the engine...aka toast! I was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost me to get a supercharged motor and tranny, and what other things i might need to upgrade or change. My tranny is good but i know it wont handle the supercharged motor for long. Is it worth the swap or should i find a used non supercharged 3.8 and put that in and maybe do a top swap? Suggestions please. Also has that happened to anyone before? Yes there was oil (full) lol....The biggest thing is im headed to the navy in a month and dont know when ill be able to get to it, and might be delayed 1 year...dont know if its worth the hassle, should i just sell it and get a new car once in the navy? I just dont want a lot of problems popping up after i do the swap

    It's worth it if you want to keep the car. Getting a new car isn't always the cheaper option. car-parts.com. Post a WTB on here or take Dsmuts on his offer. You can get everything for less then a $1k if you know how to shop around oh and FYI the GTP have the same trans as you do so if your thinking that's a upgrade it's not. Just reuse your trans and replace in future if needed. Good luck.

    Im in AZ until the 9th and then ill be in MI....the main thing is the car is in AZ and im not sure if i want to spend $900 to get it shipped to MI

    Really? well thats good to know, i heard the GTP trans was better....Also what else would i have to replace on it for it to work properly? Anything? Like i said i just dont want to do the swap and then have to keep putting new parts on it

    The only difference in the trans is the gear ratio and the differential.

    Ill be flying back...unless you have a crazy engine launching machine that can shot it to the airplane without blowing it up, its a deal lol...Ill keep it as an option for sure though...How many miles is on it?

    If I were looking to do it. I'd probably be searching cragislist for a crashed car with good drivetrain or a blow trans etc. Seems to be the best way to get a decent running motor for lower cost these days.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
