Monday my 2000 Grand Prix GT decided to not run after a 5min trip to Lunch. I replaced the fuel pump assembly , fuel filter cleaned the MAF and took the K&N out and replaced with fram paper filter. After I replaced the pump , BINGO ran great for a trip around the Block. Thank God the doors (on it) were frozen this Morning, (Thaks Big Guy) took the truck. After I got home, It started and idled just fine, for 4 min. then fluttered and now I have the same issue i had before the Tow truck arrived. more exhaust then normal from tail pipes. Pump runs a bit after false start.

I'm here, I appreciate the Help.

    codes from 16 days ago- 128, 131 & 137.

Did you clean the MAF with MAF cleaner or something else ? Try unplugging it for a while.

Unplug the MAF, start the car. It will take a while to start.

Glad I could help. One thing, make sure you never use anything but MAF cleaner on a MAF. Carb cleaner will kill it.
Also, not exactly sure what you meant by " reload the butterfly".

I used MAF cleaner, 174,000 miles on it. Oil @ every, 3k. ZZP down w cat SS. Three blk sensors on MAF intake : TOP (MAF), Middle (?) and Bottom (?). The bottom is a flat type w/ a round spring (Quarter size) on the inside. This one is a bit hard to get at , the bottom Star Pin screw that is, due to the Thermostat elbow. I did load the spring. Butter fly or choke...no sure.? Running like a top now, New F-Pump Assembly, Fuel-filter, MAF sensor all DIY. plus tow w/ tow. $ 5 Large.

    Thanks

The Sensor i was guessing about is the TPS. What is the procedure for installation of the TPS? Throttle Position Sensor.

Take a look at it. I did one the other night. I looked at how the sensor would get actuated and put it together appropriately. IIRC you need to put the sensor on then turn slightly counter clockwise so the sensor will be pushed when the throttle plate is opened.

Looking at what you are doing, is the key.

Yes, very normal. Would be used if you had the california emissions. Which is easy to spot because there's a soleniod and tubes on the exhaust etc etc.
